What AI Within will do

AI Within is an AI assistant, not a person and not a counsellor. If a conversation shows signs that you, or someone you are writing about, may be at risk, it responds with care and without judgement, encourages you to reach out to someone who can help, and points you to your local emergency number and to crisis support where you are.

It will not pretend to be a therapist or crisis counsellor, promise confidentiality it cannot give, discourage you from seeking help, or answer a request for methods.

What we cannot do

LinkedWithin is not a crisis service and is not monitored in real time. Nobody reads your conversations to check on you, and we cannot call emergency services or anyone else on your behalf. If AI Within is ever switched off, the message you see says the same thing: it is not for emergencies; if you are in danger, call your local emergency number.

Your account and your privacy

• A conversation about self-harm never leads to suspension or any other action on your account.
• These conversations are used only to answer you, like any other: never to train AI models, profile you or advertise. They are also left out of the small sample of conversations we look at to fix bugs.
• You can delete any conversation at any time.
