Important to know
- Every way of creating an account asks you to confirm you are 18 or older, and we record when you did.
- A person under 18 can only be part of LinkedWithin as a Family Profile, with their parent's or legal guardian's recorded consent.
The tick at sign-up
LinkedWithin accounts are for adults. Whichever way you create an account — email, Google or Apple, an invitation, or claiming a new chapter — you tick "I confirm that I am 18 years of age or older" before we create it, and we record when you did. We don't ask for your date of birth at sign-up; you can add it later in SettingsAccount for features such as the Life Timer.
Why 18
An account is a contract with us, so you need to be old enough to enter into one where you live. We also don't knowingly allow anyone under 18 to hold an account or to use AI Within, and we take reasonable steps to keep it that way: our apps carry an 18+ rating in the App Store and Google Play (in some countries the store confirms you are an adult before you can download them), and we act on age signals from Apple and Google and on reports. If we learn an account holder is under 18, we close the account and delete its information in the same way as any closed account.
Under 18? Family Profiles
A person under 18 can be part of LinkedWithin only as a Family Profile inside their parent's or legal guardian's account. The guardian confirms who they are and signs a consent statement when they create the profile; the child cannot sign in and has no access to the platform.
