Upload and organise files in Within Drive

Important to know

Only you can see your files. They are encrypted at rest in private storage and open only through links that expire within 15 minutes.
A file counts only once its upload finishes. An interrupted upload leaves nothing behind, so simply try again.
Deleting a folder deletes everything inside it, and that can't be undone.

What Within Drive is

Within Drive is private file storage inside your account for the documents, photos and records that matter, such as medical results, a will, tax returns or certificates. Nobody else can browse your files, and AI Within does not read them unless you choose to save text into your Drive from a conversation.

The ten folders that are always there

Within Drive opens with ten fixed folders, one for each life area: Health, Family, Finance, Legacy, Belief, Myself, To Do, Schedule, Sports and General. They can't be renamed or deleted, because every life-area page has a Within Drive button that opens straight into its own folder. General is the catch-all.

You can create your own folders, at the top level or inside a life-area one, and rename, reorder or delete them whenever you like.

Upload a file

Open Within Drive. On the web it is the button in the top bar; in the app it is the Within Drive tab.

Open the folder you want the file in (General if you're unsure).
Choose Upload and select a file. On the web you can select several at once.
Wait for the upload to finish. The file appears only once it has fully arrived and been checked.

Every upload happens in two steps: your device sends the file straight to storage over a short-lived link, then LinkedWithin confirms it landed and measures its true size. If your connection drops halfway, nothing half-finished is kept; simply upload again.

Under any AI Within answer you can also choose Save to Within Drive to keep it as a text file in the folder of the page you are on.

What you can store

PDFs, Word, Excel and other Office files, Apple iWork files, text, Markdown and CSV, photos (including HEIC), video, audio and DICOM. Files that can carry scripts, such as HTML and SVG, are refused. Store only what you have the right to keep, and keep your own copies of anything irreplaceable: Within Drive is not a guaranteed backup service.
